Dear Mr. Sheldon:

	There remains only one factual point, and since I don't
have the newspaper any more, I can't settle it.  If the bribery
was done while Schanberg was trying to rescue his friend, then
I would assume that it was in support of this effort and would
certainly regard it as justified.

	My memory of the article,
however, was that the bribery occurred before
the fall of Cambodia, when his friend was not in trouble and therefore
was presumably in support of his activities as a journalist.
If I am mistaken about this, I owe Schanberg an apology.
